Special Recognition

It is with special honor and privilege that our association would like to inaugurate this new section of our website by honoring Mr. Joseph Kaplan.  Below is a brief recap of why we are so pleased to make this recognition.

On February 15, 2003, at the Reef Restaurant in Long Beach, the Institute for the Advancement of Engineering held its annual awards dinner, honoring in part those individuals who have provided outstanding services to the advancement of the engineering profession.  The title Fellow was bestowed for life and allows the inductee to add the initials FIAE after the name.  The CSSSP Chapter nominated Mr. Kaplan, an Honorary Member of the Chapter to be this year’s honoree.  This recognition to Mr. Kaplan has been long overdue, and we, the members of CSSSP are honored to have Mr. Kaplan receive this recognition.  His contributions to the Safety & Security profession are too numerous to relate in this short space, but his name alone is known throughout the profession as one who has served for over 60 years in our profession with distinction.
