February 2009
Chief Harlen “Lamb” Lambert is the Principal for All States K-9 Detection.  He spoke of a cell phone epidemic within our U.S. Prisons.  He discussed how we can assist in bringing this new threat to a halt and protect citizens from crime lords inside our jails and prisons.

Mr. Douglas Mochizuki is retired from the Orange Fire Department as a Division Chief after 30 years of service.  He has vast experience in disaster planning which he will speak on.  He has served as a Commissioner for the California Seismic Safety Commission.  He has made numerous recommendations to the Governor regarding seismic issues facing the state, including school and hospital safety regulations.  Join us for an enriching insight into disaster planning.

Mr. Chris Wagner, RSSSP, PP, CAS, Senior Security Consultant with General Safety Services, LLC and Instructor in the Safety & Security Certificate Program at CSUHD.  Presentation: Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Implementation.  Mr. Wagner will present the impact the ADA has and will have on all sizes of businesses in California, both financially and compliance wise.

Dr. Timothy H. Maas, Ph.D. is the President of Seaview Consulting, Inc. that specializes in counseling in violent behaviors prior to their surfacing in the workplace.  Dr. Maas will provide an overview on the techniques of recognizing violent behavior traits and patterns as they relate to potential violent incidents in the workplace.  Please join us in a most interesting subject that directly affects us all in the workplace.

Mr. Keith McDonnell, Project Executive with Bovis Lend Lease.  Keith has worked in the construction industry managing projects worldwide.  He will be sharing with us his experience with safety and health cultural issues, including employee education, in countries where occupational safety and health is rarely even addressed.  Bovis Lend Lease is one of the world’s leading international project management and construction companies which operates in over 30 countries.  They have managed several large scale private and public projects in the Los Angeles area, including some for the Los Angeles Unified School District.  Bovis Lend Lease has been recognized by CAL/OSHA as a Voluntary Protection Partnership – Construction participant for its excellence in safety and health management at their California construction sites.  Cal/VPP Construction companies are considered workplace safety and health leaders within their industry.

Mr. Charles Hunt, Program Director for CSUDH Extended Education Certificate Program’s Environmental, Occupational, Safety Security Certificates.  Mr. Hunt will present the dramatic changes to take place in each of the HEX certificate programs.  He will also discuss the new direction that will be taken in advertising and promoting the HEX certificate programs.  Join us in welcoming Mr. Hunt on his new position with CSUDH Extended Education.
