CSSSP is proud to present outstanding speakers at our bi-monthly meeting. These presentations help educate our members and keep them current in their profession.
President Jim Wiedner spoke about the City of Los Angeles’ “CERT” program (Community Emergency Response Team) as our scheduled guest speaker was unable to attend the meeting.
Mr. Erik Pounder spoke about earthquake preparedness and what we can do to be ready for the big one.
Ms. Heather Houston is a Senior Program Coordinator assigned to the Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center. Ms. Houston is the facilitator and liaison to the Orange County Private Sector Response Group. She presented the security issues relating to terrorism.
Dr. Ronald Monard is certified by the American College of Forensic Examiners in Homeland Security. In addition, he has his own law practice. His topic of discussion is related to cyber security.
Mr. Joseph Peterson, director of the School of Criminal Justice and Criminalistics College of Health and Human Services at Cal State University Los Angeles. Mr. Peterson provided a guided tour of the new Hertsberg-Davis Forensic Science Center on the Cal State campus in LA.
Mr. James Black is a Senior Consultant with TRC in Irvine. TRC provides security technology engineering and consulting for a diverse group of infrastructure clients. He spoke on threat assessment and how his company assists with addressing this issue.
