CSSSP is proud to present outstanding speakers at our bi-monthly meeting. These presentations help educate our members and keep them current in their profession.

February 2001
Mr. Arthur Goodwin, PE reviewed various safety efforts that are being done with the Alameda Corridor Project.  This corridor provides a means of moving various goods from the harbor to the city.  He also reviewed the many safety related efforts to minimize injury/incidents while this corridor is being constructed.

April 2001
Mr. Ron Rita, Detection Specialist with Draeger, Inc. discussed about Draeger’s CMS (Chemical Measurement System) and Chip Technology – The Electronic Draeger Tube.  Mr. Rita started his safety career with Bullard Safety in 1974.  He moved to Industrial Scientific Corporation in 1988 and is still at this current position.

June 2001
Ms. Joanette Alpert, MS, PT, CIE, CPE, vice president and CFO, Woodward – Alpert & Associates, Inc.  A leading ergonomics work site analysis, training and consulting firm in Southern California.  She discussed about the key components of an effective ergonomics program for a worksite.

August 2001
Mr. Victor Kennedy from UCLA Medical Center.  He discussed about the many complexities of Safety and Security of a research and medical facility.

December 2001
Mr. Jeffrey L. Malek, Attorney who is well-known for his practice in the South Bay area.  He discussed about the CAL/OSHA appeals procedures, product liability defense, defense of employers in civil rights,  employment discrimination, trade secret and unfair compensation lawsuits.
